I took advantage of Portland’s gorgeous autumn weather to hike out to this hidden gem, Pup Creek Falls.
You probably know nature is good for mental health, but did you know it goes beyond that? Inflammation, blood pressure, and the stress hormone cortisol all drop out in nature. People who spend regular amounts of time in nature have lower rates of depression, anxiety, and even cancer. Kids who play outside more are less likely to need glasses.
Physical exercise is great too, but these benefits are just from being around grass, trees, and birds!
